Nyalungu’s bail conditions require him to surrender his passport, report to Calcutta Police Station twice weekly, and avoid any contact with witnesses. His bail application faced delays due to court scheduling conflicts but ultimately concluded with a judgment delivered by the presiding magistrate.
During the hearing, Nyalungu’s attorney, Bheki Shilubane, highlighted his client’s record of court appearances and health issues, which include hypertension and a left eye injury sustained during a 2012 arrest. The court also considered that the explosives were found outside his building in an unfenced area frequented by workers and others, weakening the State’s case.
