March 11, 2024Limpopo police have arrested a 30-year-old Groblersdal pastor accused of using fraudulent
documents to try and purchase a luxury vehicle at a Polokwane dealership. Colonel
Malesela Ledwaba revealed that the man presented “a fraudulent bank statement, proof of
employment and salary advice” during the attempted purchase on Saturday.
“It was established that the suspect used the details of an unsuspecting female congregant
to create a profile and forged the documents,” Ledwaba stated. The allegedly forged
paperwork was confiscated during the arrest.
The pastor is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face
charges relating to the alleged fraud. Police have not released further details at this stage,
citing an ongoing investigation.
