February 5, 2024The decomposed body of a Limpopo police officer who went missing for five days has been found outside her hometown, police confirmed Sunday. Sgt. Juliet Motshwene, 45, was last seen leaving her home in Kgapamadi, Hlogotlou on January 30. She was wearing jeans, a green shirt and pink sneakers, according to police spokesperson Col. Malesela Ledwaba.
In response to her disappearance, police immediately directed resources to search for the missing sergeant. Tragically, the search ended when Motshwene’s body was discovered outside her village Sunday afternoon in an advanced state of decomposition.
Motshwene was stationed at Rakgwadi police station in Sekhukhune district at the time of her death. “Police in Limpopo, along with the family and public, are mourning the loss of our esteemed colleague,” Ledwaba said. “We extend our deepest condolences to Sgt. Motshwene’s family and loved ones and offer our support during this difficult time. We ask that the family be given space and time to mourn their loss.”
Police urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist the investigation. Motshwene’s mysterious disappearance and tragic death have left many unanswered questions for authorities and her grieving family.
