In a show of community support, Macingwane Riding Academy donated a full soccer kit to Mandela Warriors FC, an amateur team based in the area. The handover took place on Monday, 30 September 2024, at Thabakgolo Sportsfield, just before the team competed in an under-15 top 3 soccer tournament.
Mandela Warriors, a team comprised mainly of players from disadvantaged backgrounds, has faced ongoing challenges, relying on donations to sustain their activities. The donation was made by Macingwane Riding Academy’s Director, Vincent Mchunu, who had previously attended a training session and was impressed by the players’ skills and positive attitudes despite their circumstances.
Speaking at the handover, Mchunu highlighted the significance of the donation: “This kit will help boost their self-confidence and serve as a stepping stone for them to achieve even greater success.”
The donation aims to uplift the young players and empower them both on and off the field as they continue to pursue their soccer dreams.
