Department Warns of Tender Scam
December 4, 2025Hazyview Primary School, together with Panda Pre-School and Hazy Runners, has extended heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, stakeholders and supporters who contributed to the recent Fun Run/Walk for Bongeka, held on 29 November 2025 at the Hazyview Primary School grounds.
The event was organised to assist nine-year-old Bongeka Mavimbela, a brave Grade 3 learner living with liver cirrhosis, a congenital condition that has required numerous surgeries and continuous medical care. Despite the challenges, Bongeka remains a symbol of courage and resilience.
According to a letter issued on 03 December 2025, the organisers thanked the community for the financial support, in-kind donations and voluntary help that made the fundraiser a success. They expressed that the contributions provided essential relief for Bongeka’s ongoing treatment, oxygen therapy and home-care needs.
The school highlighted how the event brought families, learners and residents together in the true spirit of Ubuntu, offering hope and unity during a very challenging time for the Mavimbela family.
Organisers further noted that they will share the final financial outcome of the fundraiser once all accounts have been consolidated.
The community’s collective kindness continues to offer comfort to Bongeka’s family and stands as a reminder of the impact of working together for a meaningful cause.
