Two men, aged 42 and 47, have been arrested after police seized approximately 204 kilograms of dagga valued at an estimated R1.2 million during an operation on the N4 near Middelburg.
According to police, members of the Ermelo K9 Unit acted on intelligence about a bakkie allegedly transporting dagga. The vehicle was intercepted and searched along the N4, where officers discovered the drugs wrapped in sellotape.
The bakkie was confiscated as part of the ongoing investigation.
The suspects were arrested at the scene and are expected to appear in the Middelburg Magistrate’s Court on 22 July 2026 on charges of possession of dagga.
