The annual State of the Province Address (SOPA) season is underway across South Africa. It started on Monday, February 19, and running through March 1, the premiers of each province will deliver their SOPA to officially open the provincial legislatures for the year.
The SOPA provides an overview of the current political and socioeconomic conditions in the province. Premiers outline key policy goals, deliverables, and priorities for the upcoming term. They also reflect on achievements made by the provincial government over the past year.
