Shortly before being crowned Mrs South Africa’s First Princess in November 2023, Noeline Rajbally received shocking news – she had breast cancer. Now, after finishing radiation treatment, she is heading to China to represent South Africa at the 2024 Mrs Globe pageant.
“I don’t intend to let cancer define me, but I want to use my experience to raise awareness and help women not only on their health journey but in their lives in general,” Rajbally said. She discovered a lump by chance and urges women to check themselves regularly and get screened if concerned.
Though her doctor initially wasn’t worried, further testing revealed a tumour. Rajbally underwent surgery and radiation but feels ready to take on Mrs Globe: “I am more than just a cancer survivor – I am a wife, a mother, an entrepreneur and a life coach.”
As the first Mrs South Africa contestant at Mrs Globe in years, expectations are high. Rajbally hopes to follow in the footsteps of Riana Mooi, the last South African to win Mrs Global in 2015.
Rajbally will showcase designs by South Africa’s top designers. Mrs South Africa CEO Joani Johnson believes Rajbally has what it takes to bring home the crown: “If anyone can do it, it’s Noeline. She always seems to somehow stand out in the crowd through her passion, determination, and grace.”
Through pageants, public appearances, and now by sharing her cancer journey, Rajbally aims to inspire other women to pursue their dreams and take charge of their health. Her grit and grace in the face of cancer make her a role model.
