Motorists Warned of Dangerous R40 Damage

Motorists travelling along the R40 between Dwarsloop and Bushbuckridge are urged to exercise extreme caution following serious road damage near the hill close to the Bushbuckridge CBD.

The affected section has deteriorated significantly, with one lane badly damaged, posing a danger to all road users. Although the road has been in poor condition for more than three years, the situation has now worsened and requires heightened vigilance.

Night-time driving is particularly risky, as there are limited visible warning signs in the area. Reduced visibility, combined with speeding, increases the likelihood of accidents on this stretch of road.

Road users are advised to slow down, maintain a safe following distance and remain alert at all times. Motorists are also encouraged to be considerate of fellow drivers and to share this warning with others who regularly use the route.

Authorities and relevant departments have been urged to urgently attend to the damaged section to prevent potential accidents and ensure safer travel for the community.
