A woman in leadership seminar was held by the Mpumalanga Department of Education to give women the chance to strengthen their professional leadership skills.
More than 400 delegates, including school principals, middle managers, and senior managers from the Department of Education, as well as officials from Sister Departments, gathered to discuss leadership issues.
The Departmental Chief Accounting Officer, Mrs Thokozile Ntuli officially opened the Seminar by acknowledging the hard work and dedication of all the women senior managers, middle managers, and principals of schools.
“ As a woman leader myself, I know firsthand the importance of women’s leadership in all aspects of society especially in education, where women play a vital role in shaping the future of our children and our Province, the Place of the Rising Sun.
Women Leaders are endowed to paint the future. We share a view that this is a very fitting platform Because women leaders are indeed trendsetters.” She said.
The objective is to empower women in terms of the challenges that they face daily, particularly within the workplace.
“We believe that the education system will benefit ultimately because the women in education are empowered,” said the head of education Lucy Moyane
The seminar is crucial for ensuring that women’s wellness is taken care of since one thing they require is social and emotional intelligence to deal with the problems they confront.
Ella Makgalane SAICE CEO stated that they aim to encourage women to work together rather than compete with one another to improve teaching and learning and contribute to the development of this province and the entire nation.
The conference gave women the skills and resources they need to be more productive, acting as a catalyst for positive change and advancement in their professions and their daily lives.
Ms. Rhundzani Mhlari stated that it is important that these kinds of seminars happen frequently because oftentimes women are faced with a lot of social expectations.
“When we gather around in this manner it always forms a reminder that we are important and we are supported, and it always gives us courage that we are being recognised as people who can make an impact. “said Rhudzani
