March 4, 2024Minimum wage hike brings relief for vulnerable workers
March 4, 2024Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga expressed her pleasure with the progress made in the renovation of the notorious Moloto Road.
On Monday, Chikunga made an oversight visit to the regional route that connects Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo.
The refurbishment of one of SA’s most dangerous roads is being done by the national roads agency SANRAL and is expected to cost some R4.5 billion.
Chikunga says the project has also created job opportunities.
“Amongst the interventions was to then hand over this road to SANRAL for better construction and maintenance. As you can see now we have all these projects and as indicated we are adding lanes in some areas.
“Where it used to be a single lane, it is now going to be a double lane”.
