February 23, 2024In a briefing in Durban, ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said that former president Jacob Zuma
is “collaborating with the enemy” by supporting the rival uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party.
Mbalula accused Zuma of strengthening opponents ahead of the ANC manifesto launch on Saturday.
Zuma’s presence at MK’s launch last December signaled that he would not support the ANC under
President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Mbalula believes Zuma will be responsible if the ANC fails in upcoming elections.
“If the ANC fails, Zuma will account for that,” Mbalula said.
Recent polls predict the ANC could lose half its 2019 KwaZulu-Natal votes to MK.
Mbalula dismissed the polls, saying the ANC relies on groundwork, not surveys.
