The CSIR has developed a system called the Crocodile Bridge Korea Cross, which records and captures activities in the Coalition of the Cross. The system is monitored 24/7 by Rangers who use an instrument to report incidents. The technology is powered by soda and is used to monitor the activities in the field.
The unit also works with the environmental crime investigative unit, which consists of three levels: internal investigation for people connected to poachers, and a unit dealing with people doing coaching outside. The unit works in Mozambique to identify syndicate leaders and target them when a rhino is killed. They also conduct undercover operations to attack syndicates outside.
One issue that has been addressed is the corrupt syndicate leader in Skukuza, where sentencing was issued on fines. Since then, the unit has worked with new officers and magistrates dedicated to their work. Sentences have escalated, and poachers now go to other private reserves and private reserves.
The Hawks, SAP, and judiciary work together to make the unit successful and ensure the rhino is declining. They meet poachers daily and arrest them as part of their daily job. The unit is based in all weathers, with its head office in town, hotel Isabel Palabora, and Kruger.
In summary, the CSIR and the environmental crime investigative unit work together to address poaching and environmental crime in the Coalition of the Cross. Their efforts have led to increased success and the decline of rhino poaching.
DNA is used to match individuals involved in a project, and the evidence is then analyzed to determine their involvement in cases. The process ensures that the area has never been contaminated before, and the evidence has a 100% conviction rate. Community members engage with communities and traditional leaders to strengthen and match the work of CI and Rangers. Informers are formed outside formal and informal settings, and those who have been coaches or are still conscious are compensated for their lifetime information. A poachers camp was found three hours ago, and five suspects were identified. Field Rangers are currently following up on suspects, and they are prepared to arrest anyone who tries to escape.
