Illegal Strike Halts Lowveld Tourism
January 20, 2025Mpumalanga police are seeking the families of two of the three men whose bodies were discovered on a trading farm in Khomabaso, Mbuzini, on 17 January.
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane confirmed that the third man’s body has been identified and claimed by his family in Schoemansdal.
The farm owner reported finding the bodies of two men upon arriving at the property around 05:00. A stepladder was spotted near a building, and a third body was later discovered in the garden.
“It is suspected that the three individuals were on the farm to engage in illegal activities,” said Ndubane.
Police observed that most of the corrugated iron nails had been removed from the building, and the ladder appeared to have been used to reach the roof.
“All three deceased had visible bruises across their bodies, indicating they were assaulted,” Ndubane added.
A burnt-out bakkie, believed to be their transportation, was also found near the scene, with its license plates still intact.
The murders are suspected to have occurred during the night of 16 January or the early hours of 17 January.
