Three Pedestrians Killed in Road Accident

Three pedestrians were killed, and two others were injured after a vehicle struck them on the D2945 road between Magudu and Mgobodzi on January 12.

Moeti Mmusi, spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL), reported that a Toyota sedan collided with five pedestrians walking along the road.

“Three people tragically lost their lives at the scene. Two others sustained serious injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Among the deceased were a 54-year-old woman and two children, aged 14 and 10,” said Mmusi.

MEC Jackie Macie of the DCSSL expressed condolences to the affected families and urged motorists to remain vigilant, particularly in residential areas, to prevent such tragedies.
