Operation Vala Umgodi Nets Two Suspects

During Operation Vala Umgodi in Mpumalanga, two suspects, aged 20 and 43, were arrested on 01 May 2025 by members of the SAPS Proactive and Combat team.

The arrests were made during a disruptive operation conducted along the R527 road between Sabie and White River. The suspects were found to be in violation of the Immigration Act, while one was also charged under the Counterfeit Goods Act.

Counterfeit cigarettes were confiscated from spaza shops in the Sabie area as part of the operation.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Sabie Magistrate's Court soon.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr.) Zeph Mkhwanazi, praised the officers involved, commending their dedication and the continued positive outcomes of Operation Vala Umgodi.
