Man Arrested for Fatal Stabbing in Volop Village

Police in Magatle, Capricorn District, have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a local resident at Volop village in the early hours of Monday, 6 October 2025.

According to Limpopo police spokespersons, officers were called to the scene at around 2:10am, where they discovered the body of 40-year-old Paris Machaka lying on the street with a stab wound to his forehead.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim was attacked while returning home from a nearby tavern. Emergency medical personnel were summoned but sadly declared Machaka dead upon arrival.

Police investigations led them to a local hospital, where the suspect was found receiving medical treatment. He was immediately arrested and charged with murder.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Magatle Magistrate’s Court soon.
