HAWKS RESUME OPERATION THUNDER TO COMBAT WILDLIFE TRAFFICKING

The Hawks’ Nelspruit-based Organised Crime Investigation, together with White River K9 and Skukuza Vispol, has resumed Operation Thunder at Crocodile Bridge in the Kruger National Park near Komatipoort.
The operation aims to disrupt, detect and investigate criminal activities linked to wildlife trafficking, including the illegal trade in endangered plants.
The team is working closely with Kruger National Park Protection Services, which conducts searches and verifications while helping ensure the safety and security of visitors.
The joint operation forms part of ongoing efforts to protect the park’s wildlife and strengthen the fight against environmental crime.
