Crocodile Bridge Gate to Reopen After Floods

Following recent severe weather in parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, including areas within Kruger National Park (KNP), Crocodile Bridge Gate will reopen for day visitors from Thursday, 22 January 2026.

Visitors are warned that conditions remain unpredictable. A dam wall outside the park has been reported as compromised, which could lead to sudden changes in access at Crocodile Bridge Gate. All gravel roads remain closed, and guests are strongly advised not to remove barricades, which are in place to protect public safety and park infrastructure.

Malelane, Numbi, and Paul Kruger Gates remain open under an entry quota system, while Phabeni Gate stays closed. However, the southern and northern sections of the park are still cut off, making Tshokwane Picnic Site, Satara Rest Camp, and northern areas inaccessible.

SANParks continues to monitor the situation and urges visitors to follow all instructions and signage for their safety. Guests are also encouraged to take their waste with them as operations remain under pressure following the flooding.
