Community Mob Kills Man in Bushbuckridge

Police in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, have launched an investigation after a man was beaten to death by community members in an apparent act of mob justice. The incident occurred around 18:00 on 3 June 2025, in Masakeng Trust.

According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, the victim, believed to be in his 30s, was found near a local school with multiple injuries. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest that community members may have accused the man of raping a nine-year-old girl earlier that day. However, this allegation remains unconfirmed, and the police emphasize that the matter is still under investigation.

The victim has not yet been identified. He was wearing black trousers and a blue work suit at the time of his death. Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased and locating his family.
