BLACK MAMBA SNAKE CAUGHT NEAR INYAKA DAM


A black mamba was caught near Inyaka Dam on Monday, 5 October 2026, after the snake was spotted in the area.
The discovery caused concern among people in the vicinity, as black mambas are highly venomous and can pose a serious danger when threatened or cornered.
The snake was safely captured, preventing a potentially dangerous encounter with members of the public.
Residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant in areas close to dams, bushveld and other natural habitats. Anyone who encounters a snake is advised not to approach, provoke or attempt to capture it, but to contact trained snake handlers or relevant authorities for assistance.
