Man kidnapped to be reunited with wife

 A man was kidnapped while sleeping at his home in Ka Shelden near DG Mashego Primary school. It is said that the man was sleeping when the intruders came in. He did not hear them. It is alleged that the kidnappers came in a Quantum and a small car. They broke the door with a steel rod and led themselves to the man’s bedroom. The man was forced by the kidnappers to leave with them in the middle of the night so that he could be reunited with his wife. When he refused they forcefully took him.

It is rumoured that the man left his wife near or in Swaziland and moved to Ka Shelden in Bushbuckridge where he is originally from.                                                                                                          

At the place from where he fled it is a ritual practice that when a couple separate they reunite them. They do not believe in separation or divorce, they believe that a married couple can only be separated by death. When they noticed that a man had gone for good, leaving his wife, they made it their obligation to reunite the couple by kidnapping the man.
It is said that this is not the first time the kidnappers came to Bushbuckridge to fetch someone. The man’s brother agrees with this but the community of Ka -shelden disagrees with this practice.
A case of kidnapping was opened at Mkhuhlu Police Station.
The community has yet to decide how this matter will be resolved.
