Hazyview Eskom plant
Hazyview resembled an action movie action scene this past Monday (11. October. 2010) as fire fighters in helicopters struggled to put out the fire at the Eskom plant.
According to reports, a loud noise preceded the explosion that saw dark clouds of smoking covering most of Hazyview.
Fortunately the fire brigade arrived in time to put down the fire.Hazyview police spokesperson Mpho Kola told Bushbuckridge News that Eskom’s transformer had exploded, causing the fire.
The cause of the explosion is not known, but no foul play is suspected.Eskom could not be reached for further comment.
